Vegetable glycerin

Glycerin is a humectant and is not a raw ingredient in our soaps, but you’ll find it in our ingredients list. Why ?

Because glycerin is a natural byproduct of the soap-making process, in which all lye are reacted with fatty acids in oils, giving soap and glycerin. This vegetable glycerin, in addition to other skin-friendly substances (such as sodium olivate, sodium sheabutterate, …) in the soap, is what makes natural handmade soaps so wonderful.

As glycerin is moisture-loving, that’s why when there air is loaded with humidity in rainy days, you may find a natural soap “sticky” in touch on the surface. This is normal and this “stickiness” will disappear once the air is dried.
